A Great Testimony Meeting and More Pictures from Zone Development Day!

Heya everyone this week was a good week.

Had Z day and got to play some good ole CTF (Chase The Flag) and also went on exchanges this week in Limerick.

Not a ton happened this week but we had a great testimony meeting yesterday.

Uriel got up and bore his testimony that all he's learning is true and invited everyone to his Baptism! It was so great!

On Saturday we also had a potluck and we all made something and I made Nutella chocolate chip cookies with a recipe that I found online which was pretty good.

Well sorry to say nothing else really happened, it was a slow week with rainy weather yet again. Sorry :(

Anyway have a good craic this week and take care of yourselves!

PS. Some answers to questions:

When you travel to Limerick for Zone Development/Zone Conference do you get a ride or do you go by bus?
We always take the bus for Limerick.

Are all the Daffodils out?
Yea there are a lot of yellow Daffodils everywhere.

Have your seen the new Church video "Because He Lives" that has been released for Easter?
Yea, were doing another mission initiative with it. We're getting the cards for it tomorrow.

A Week of Interesting Happenings, So Just Smile and Wave!

Heya everyone!

This week has had some interesting things happen.

So we got to teach Uriel LOC (Law of Chastity) and WOW (Word of Wisdom) which went great! The guy has been living both for quite some time and he didn't know why so now he has a reason too haha!

We also taught a new guy named Eamonn who's a great guy and we hope to teach him more in the future.

We also taught Minerva again, POS (Plan of Salvation), which went great and she's really sweet and nice!

We also had a interesting encounter with someone that I have dubbed the name Korihor. His name is Dennis and we first met him clear back when we met Callum. All he does is bash with us and has a BOM, D&C, and POGP all highlighted and labeled with contradictions and other anti stuff labeled.

He has repeatedly bashed with us and stopped some of the other guys lessons and this week when the other 2 were on exchange the other missionary got talking with him. Well me and Elder Shubin ended up getting a call to "evac" them.

I wasn't going to say anything to him because he really gets me temper going! So we go in and he was still not letting them really go by arguing so I just told him "we had to go and we're not going to argue, we're just here to talk about God with people" and said he was being contentious. He then got all mad at me. I then stuck out my hand to shake his hand but he didn't take it so I just walked away.

Well just Sunday after being with Minerva we were walking through the crowd and I heard someone call out "Elder Tarbet!" I look over and it's Dennis walking by and he just says to me "I'm watching you man!" So now we've got a #1 enemy here in Galway. So yea I did what I thought was best to do. Just smile and wave.

Yesterday we had ZDD (Zone Development Day) and we got to play CTF (Chase the Flag) in some old castle ruins which was awesome!

Anyway take care and God Bless!

PS.
What was St. Patrick's Day like? Lots of people were drinking. Its basically like our 4th of July but Irish version.

Did you get to see the solar eclipse?
We also got to see the solar eclipse it was during our studies.

Good News and Have a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Heya everyone what's the craic!?

Happy St. Patrick's day this week!

So last week was pretty quiet in the flat since Elder Udell and Cavallaro didn't get here until Friday.

On Moves day me and Elder Shubin went shopping. Well I tried to get some new trousers and the 2 I did get that fit me the best are even more tight than my normal slacks are when we're biking which was the first reason why I was getting more "trousers." So what did I learn.... my legs are too fat and weird for European trousers....stupid short beefy legs (Mom's note: strong wrestler legs, made even stronger from all the cycling).

Anyway we had some great lessons with Uriel and guess what.... got a baptismal date for him on April 11! So excited! Hes a stud.

We also got another new investigator who is also from Mexico!

We barely have any Irish investigators because they are not really interested, all our work is done mostly with foreigners funny enough and it's not just us, that's how it is throughout most of the mission.

I'll let you all know how St Patty's day goes over here in good ole Ireland.

God bless.

Love and take care,

Elder Tarbet (Wolverine)

PS. Did you celebrate Mother's Day at Church yesterday?
Yea yesterday we sang Love at Home at the end of Sacrament to the mothers.

Will you get to eat a typically Irish meal on St. Patrick's day?
We probably won't be having that meal but we will be at the Weber's tomorrow.

A Great Week, Transfer Calls and Guess Who's Coming Here!

Heya everyone!

So this week was great!

So first off we were given permission to have exchanges with the other elders in our flat once a transfer so we had our transfers this week.

We had a lot of success and found quite a few more people to possibly teach and had one awesome lesson!

Me and Elder Novotny taught Uriel our investigator from Vera Cruz in Mexico about the POS (Plan of Salvation) which went great and we invited him to be baptized. He says he'll pray about it to get a personal witness for himself to make sure it's the best thing for him but he accepted but we don't have a date yet but we're still pumped for him because he's so great!

We also got our moves call and were all staying except for Elder Novotny, hes going to Pollock in Scotland being a DL (District Leader) so were excited for him. And you'll never guess who is coming to replace him...... my poppie Elder Cavallaro!!!

I'm so stoked that he's coming to live in our flat.

I also gave a talk in church on being a Disciple of Christ which went pretty well and i've got a cool story that happened for that.

So Bowen our RC (Recent Convert) was passing the sacrament for the first time and I was doing it with him to show him and as the prayer for the bread was being said I said a quick prayer that Uriel would show up for the sacrament and my talk. Well as I finally sat back I saw movement in the window and looked up and saw it was Uriel that showed up!

Anyway hope you all have a great week and have loads of craic!

Take care.

Love,

Elder Tarbet (Wolverine)

PS. So answering your questions:

How long does it take you to travel by bus to District Meeting?
It takes like 2 to 2 and a half hours to get to District Meeting (DM) in Limerick.

Who is your District Leader?
Elder Scott is our DL and he's awesome!

Who is in your District?
I don't know who is in our district right now because of moves.

What do you do at night?
At night we either chapp (knock on doors) or do night gqing (Golden Questioning/street contacting) and do that a lot when appointments fall through which happens a lot here.

A Blessed Week, And The Uggliest Birthday Cake!

Heya,

This week we have been very blessed!

Like I already said we had ZDD (Zone Development Day) which was fun and then after emailing we had a lesson with a Lamanite!

His name is Uriel and he's from Mexico City (I think).

Anyway he's really awesome and is completly ready for the Gospel and so willing to learn and come to church its great!

We're going to invite him this week in our next lesson with him because he's progressing already and we think he'll except it!

We didn't see Ben but well see him again in the future. We also weren't able to see Terry last week but hope to see him this week.

I also made a cake for Elder Novotny's Birthday and well..... it's the most ugliest cake in the world! Haha. I made it out of scone mix because I can't make a basic cake by hand and chopped up some bananas into it and then put a lemon custard on and inside it. It tasted great but looked so bad.

We also have had raging tempest weather again this week. The wind has been blowing so hard that we have to pedal hard to bike downhill! And yesterday was great with tons of ice and rain. We showed up to church soaking wet but that's a typical day in Galway.

We had Uriel at church yesterday and another investigator who's name is Josephine (who calls my companion Stewart for some reason). We also got let into the home because we were checking on how their son was doing and she thought it was so nice that she let us in and we talked to her and her son and then her son asked for pamphlets and gave us apple sponge pie which was delicious!

But yea we got really blessed with our new investigators and in meeting a great guy!

Love yous all and take care!

Elder Tarbet (Wolverine)

PS. Woke up to this on the ground this morning my first thought was "Well today is going to be a great biking day...."

Also Saturday is the day before moves call and out here in the mish (mission) we call it MANOK which stands for Moves Anticipation Night of Kebabs but since the kebabs down here in the Republic are not that great we changed it to MANOP (Moves Anticipation Night of Pizza).

Here's some more pics of the cake and a picture of the split glass with butter,
when making the Red Velvet cake, a couple of weeks ago.
