Mistaken for the Police! Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Rosslyn Chapel

Heya everyone.

So this week we didn’t have that many lessons from Maxine busy with work and Annette not feeling well.

Still haven't met Collin but we did get to see Keith this week.

He’s doing well and might be coming out to church this Sunday, hopefully!

Other than that just been chapping and finding.

In Scotland you can get mistaken for 1 of 2 people. JW's or the Police.

I got mistaken for an officer one night, the guy came out and was all scared and like "You got the wrong guy! What do you want?" Then I said what we do and he was like "Oh go away."

It was pretty funny though.

Also chapped an RV like place and 1 house had Snow White and all the 7 dwarfs (kinda creepy actually).

Our Pastor friend dropped our appointment on account of being "under pressure".

This morning we went out to the Rosslyn Chapel where the Da Vinci Code was filmed. Sorry wasn't allowed to take pics but saw lots of Masonic things in there (secret combinations are real....)

Rosslyn Chapel

So other than that just going to keep on finding.

Love yall!

Take care and God Bless!

Time to enjoy a treat!

NOTES on Rosslyn Chapel taken from the Internet:

Rosslyn Chapel, formally known as the Collegiate Chapel of St Matthew, is a 15th-century chapel located at the village of Roslin, Midlothian, Scotland.

Rosslyn Chapel was founded on a small hill above Roslin Glen as a Catholic collegiate church (with between four and six ordained canons and two boy choristers) in the mid-15th century. The chapel was founded by William Sinclair, 1st Earl of Caithness of the Scoto-Norman Sinclair family. Rosslyn Chapel is the third Sinclair place of worship at Roslin, the first being in Roslin Castle and the second (whose crumbling buttresses can still be seen today) in what is now Roslin Cemetery.

Since the late 1980s, the chapel has also featured in speculative theories concerning a connection of Freemasonry, the Knights Templar, and the Holy Grail. It was prominently featured in the 2003 bestseller The Da Vinci Code and its 2006 film adaptation.

Rosslyn Chapel remains privately owned. The current owner is Peter St Clair-Erskine, 7th Earl of Rosslyn.

ZIT Meeting in Edinburgh, Exchanges in Dumfries and Some Spiritual Sharings

Heya everyone,

So so this week we got to teach Annette and Maxine again after we had ZIT (Zone Interview and Training) in Edinburgh.

It was really good though sad to inform the people that I live chat while emailing that we can’t do that anymore so if I usually talk to you while doing my email sesh (session) then don't feel bad if I don't email back. Presidents orders ha.

Also went on exchanges this week to Dumfries and had a lesson with Keith.

We were able to teach Chris and his kids again this week. We taught them the POS (Plan of Salvation). They are great!

Katriona dropped us after our last lesson with her, on account of her saying her heart isn't in it to change so she’s not ready at the moment to continue on.

Don't know yet about Halloween cause it hasn't come around yet, but I’ve seen costumes and stuff in stores but they already got Christmas stuff coming out as well.

A big spiritual moment this week was in our lesson with Maxine.

She said she wouldn't feel the Spirit when reading and because she didn't want to change. Well I bore testimony about why the message is so important for her and for her family and got a little weepy from the Spirit and so did she, so she felt the Spirit quite strongly. It was really good.

Not much success with our finding so far yet, but we are hopeful that as we continue to work hard we will be blessed for our efforts.

Went to have a lesson this morning with some potentials we’ve found but they didn't answer.

Ach well.

Take care this week!

Love,

Elder Tarbet (Wolverine)

DUMFRIES

Dumfries, where John III Comyn was Murdered by Robert the Bruce
John III Comyn, Lord of Badenoch, lived from around 1270 to 10 February 1306. A man with links to both the Scottish and English royal families, he became a Guardian of Scotland at a crucial moment. He is best known for being murdered by Robert the Bruce in front of the high altar of the Greyfriars Church in Dumfries.

Mousy, Mousy, Come out Where Ever You Are--Working Hard in Dalkeith!

Heya everyone!

So this week we've just been busy learning the area and trying to find some more people to teach.

We went on exchanges on Wednesday, so we were in Edinburgh. It was raining all day long and was quite cold so came back drenched yet again so looks like were in for a good winter....

While there we found a mouse in the mission home which made it's way to the A.P.'s (Assistants to the President) room when we were trying to catch it since it was in the ZL's (Zone Leaders) room.

Its name was Jerry of course.

We got to finally meet some of our investigators this week.

We met Annette and Maxine who are a mom and daughter. They both love the BOM (Book of Mormon) and actually have a competition with reading it. Maxine already chose a date for herself, March 25.

We also met our investigator Katriona who actually used to live in the Bhaile in Galway and knew the same missionary that worked with some of the people in Galway that we worked with. Small word aye.

Everyday it takes us about a half hour to walk into town from our flat.

We're meeting Keith this week and last week I miswrote Craig. It's actually Chris and he and his kids are great!

Last night we taught them and his son was like "Dad when can we go to church?" He's 7.

We got to meet a couple of other members at church. There was about 30-40 or so there so not as big as Paisley.

Other than that just been busy trying to find more people and just been doing lots of chapping.

We had a cool experience where we both prayed to find a town to go to and we both got an answer to go there so now were just needing to find the right streets so will have to go back to praying some more.

Take care,

Love!

 MOM'S NOTE:
On Saturday, October 10, 2015 Anne Harrison took Elder Tarbet and Elder Kinville out to eat for lunch, and sent some pictures. Yea!!!

Then on Sunday morning Anne sent me a few more surprise photos that she found on her phone. The cheeky little (well maybe not so little) rascals took a few surprise selfies, goofing around.

From Paisley to Dalkeith, Now You Have It, Now You Don't!

Heya everyone,

Sorry again about last week, but the bank holiday got in the way.  :( Anyhoozers!

So this week was just saying goodbye to people then traveling to Dalkeith.

So I said it was a car area but we just lost it this morning (like 2 hours ago....) to another area. So back to walking and buses.

My new companion, Elder Kinville, is a little quiet, but a really nice guy.

Loved conference especially the testimonies of the new Apostles! Can’t decide which of the three I like the most but probably shouldn't anyway. We got to watch the Saturday sessions all of them and the Sunday morning. Those are the only ones we always get to watch.

We’re working with a couple of investigators that we are going to meet this week as well as 2 LA's (Less Active's).

One is a huge ripped guy named Keith who I got along with pretty well and the other is named Craig who we teach his kids.

Not much else to say besides this area is a whole lot of chapping/tracting. Not much GQing (Golden Questioning) to do here.

Dalkeith is pretty small of a town and the other towns are really spread out so reminds me of the Portadown area a bit.

Yea we did finish the Doyle’s shed before I left.

Love ya’ll and take care!
