Leaving the valley and shadow of Galway!‏ Heading to My Third Area, Paisley

Paisley, Scotland www.theprintbrokers.com
Heya,

So for those who haven't heard I’m going to the Paisley Zone in Scotland, which I’m pretty pumped about!

First off need to say that Elder Cavallaro had his surgery this week and it went well.

His mother had asked me to give him a blessing and I stayed the whole time with him. Although later, which was really frustrating,  they ended up kicking me out of the hospital because I was past "visiting hours". I then nearly broke a door trying to get out of the hospital because they wouldn’t open since they turned off the doors.

Anyway I feel bad that I couldn't stay the whole time with him, I tried but because of the hospital rules I had to leave. But he's doing good though!

My companion is Elder. Stoker who goes home same time as Elder Cavallaro. I think I’ll be in Irvine so I don’t know about Greenock. (Mom's Note: I was baptized in Greenock and I have a cousin there.)

So this week we’ve spent a lot of time switching off spending time with Elder Cavallaro so we all get time to get out and work.

I don’t know yet what the travel plans are. I’m probably leaving Tuesday for Dublin staying the night there, then traveling by ferry Wednesday and traveling all day to Paisley.

In other news Elder Jamieson is also moving to Sligo so there will only be one pair of missionaries here.

A crazy story for this week was yesterday coming back with one of the members to our bikes we saw a guy on the ground getting back up and he had blood all over his face where he had bashed his head tripping over his dogs lead. So when the member went to grab a medical kit I helped sit the guy down and was talking with him making sure he was coherent and everything because that was all I could do.

For the potluck this weekend me and Elder Cavallaro also made a new dessert dish called Nutellagna (dessert lasagna). It’s basically a heart attack waiting to happen but it’s delicious! Its layers of pancake with Nutella, raspberry jam, whip cream, duo chocolate spread, and frozen berries.

Nutellagna

I’m sad to be leaving here but I’m also ready to leave so looking forward to new adventures in Scotland and especially getting my kilt!

Take care of yourselves!

The Lord Truly Answers Any Prayer If You Have Faith!

Heya everyone!

So this week was a busy week. We had exchanges with the ZL's and the guys in our flat.

Got to teach Ben from Alaska POS (Plan of Salvation)and Qi POS and both went really well.

Ben is making progress and admitted that he believes in God which I was psyched for because he first told us he didn’t know if God was there!

We had Declan come to church finally and he enjoyed it! Bowen also came to church on his own!

I also taught Minerva for the last time this week and we got her set with a date for June 27!

On a sad note Alexis moved back to California :(

We also been getting in touch with some of our formers and got some set up to meet with us so hopefully that goes well.

Today I showed the guys the ruins that we went to around New Years so they got to take some pictures of that place.

Nothing else really crazy happened sadly.

A cool quick experience I had with prayer this week.

So while playing basketball, with the YM (Young Men), one of the brothers named Nathan got a bloody nose and a bad one at that. I quickly went over to my bag knowing I didn’t have anything to help but still I asked the Lord to give me something to help out. On the side of my bag pocket was a clean tissue given to me several weeks back at the last Testimony meeting (because I’m a cry baby after my testimonies.... don’t judge or you get punched!) so I gave that to him.

The Lord truly answers any prayer if you have faith!

This Sunday is Moves call so I’ll let yous all know what goes on next week!

Take care!

Love,

"Let Us Put On The Armour of Light."

Heya everyone!

So this week was busy with exchanges with Limerick Elders and had our last interview with President Brown :(

We also had a lesson with Minerva this week and found out that she won't be permanately living in Dublin till June so we will still be teaching her till then.

She also accepted to be baptized in June so were going to decide on a date with her!

Uriel has been a big help with her! Sunday was great we got to Skype home and had an awesome dinner at the Christy's and we got to have some BBQ.

Also on Sunday Uriel had the opportunity to bless the sacrament for the first time and he did great! I knew he would.

Nothing else really crazy happened this week... almost forgot. Elder Christensen hit his year mark on Friday so he wanted to try and run a mile in under 5 min. Well he was close but only got 5:18 so he's going to be training, haha.

Take care of yourselves!

Love

Here are some answers to questions:

How have things changed since being in a District Leader companionship? What kinds of additional things do you have to do?
Elder Christensen has DL (District Leader) planning for DM's (District Meetings) so we take time out to do that and we go on a lot more exchanges.

Have you got a new favorite or meaningful scripture lately?

My new favorite scripture has got to be Romans 13:12 "The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness , and let us put on the armour of light."  Sounds like something that would be in a song but at the same time has a great personal meaning.

 NOTE ADDED BY MOM:

"We had such fun and laughter on our Mother's Day Skype with Terry. His Dad, who's away on a business trip, in Italy, was able to join in by Skype from Rome. Terry looked amazing and it was wonderful to hear him share his adventures and to go into more detail about his experiences. It was great to hear his testimony, to see his joy and to witness the growth in my son, to see the man he is becoming. Such a wonderful moment and experience. One happy Momma right now."

Catch-up Week, Webers Leave and What Do You Do With A Traffic Cone?

Heya everyone!

Sadly I don't have much time this week because it's a Bank Holiday here, so that means everywhere to email was closed, so we had to all email at the church.

Alexis and Uriel both say hi and I told Uriel about the package so he says thank you and you are too kind (they brought their laptops to help us email home). We're Skyping at the Christys again on Sunday but I don't really have a set time just yet sorry. I'll Skype anytime from 6:30-9 pm Irish time.

This week was a little slow with finding and not teaching many people but we got to see Declan with Alexis and taught the Restoration.

We have also been working with our YM because they are LA and got to help one of them do some missionary type activities that he wanted to do.

Elder Jamieson got injured playing soccer though so he's been hobbling around on crutches.

The Webers also went home this week :(

The funniest thing that happened this week was walking into our bathroom to find a giant traffic cone in our shower placed there by the other elders.

Sunday was actually pretty busy on account of a tour bus with members touring Ireland coming to the chapel so the whole chapel was full (probably about 35-40 people!)

Give my congrats to Bo, Caroline, and Elisha for me and also forgot to tell you that the second pair of trousers that you gave me was way to tight.

Anyway take care of yourselves this week!
